James had his first flying lesson in an Auster at Portsmouth airport at the age of 11. Since then he has amassed over 12,000 hours total time, in over 25 years of commercial flying, the majority of which has been instructing. He hasn't only been an instructor; to add to his experience he has flown commercially in the Middle East on the HS125, a twin-engined mid-size corporate jet and fulfilled a contract in Saudi Arabia flying an F27.  


The aircraft types and places he has flown are too many to list, suffice to say that his career is varied due to his insatiable appetite for all things to do with aviation. He even started flying airships in 1997, touring Europe and the USA, training airship pilots and flying overhead the Olympic stadium in 2012 for filming.
 

James Peplow Flight InstructorTraining remains his focus, as he finds great satisfaction in adapting to the needs of his 'student'. James has taught many people from all walks of life and now specializes in the challenges of tail wheel conversion training and the intricacies of the IMC rating.
